Can anyone help me confirm whether its legal to own a Balisong (erfly) knife in California?

I am really confused regarding the law. What is the legality of keeping a Balisong knife in your home. Many say it's illegal period, but many say it is legal. Can anyone with an expertise in this law confirm this for me.
